Workshop - New for 2011
For the first time at the Tax Stamp Forum we will be running a half-day Workshop. On the afternoon of Monday 12th September Dr Glenn Wood of Reconnaissance International will present The Technology Behind Tax Stamp Security, together with a panel of international technology experts.
There has been proliferation in recent years of products and systems for coding, track & trace, authentication and verification providing a comprehensive yet potentially bewildering choice of options as to the most appropriate solutions. Is an overt or covert solution required, or both? What works for an in-field investigator versus a laboratory-based analyst? Can authentication technologies provide forensic evidence that will stand up in court? How do features for public verification measures up? The list goes on …
This workshop will examine in detail the science and technology behind the leading security features being offered for use on tax stamps. Current and emerging technologies will be presented in an impartial way, free from commercial hype, allowing designers, specifiers and users of tax stamps to compare available security features in terms of resistance to compromise (counterfeiting, simulation and tampering).
The cost implications of each technology will also be considered in terms that will assist decision-making, while some of the technologies will be presented by the technologists who developed them, thus providing an opportunity for deeper questioning.
This in-depth and practical examination of the multiplicity of different solutions will allowing participants to handle and compare such solutions and receive a truly hands-on experience of what is available in the market.
Dr Glenn Wood has a 25 year background in all aspects of protection systems for secure documents. After obtaining a science doctorate at Oxford University in 1978, he worked with Ilford Ltd on the development of holographic materials and then at OpSec Security Group as VP Business Development for security products. His co-presenters are acknowledged technical experts in their own right with strong scientific backgrounds.
You can book to attend this Workshop when registering your delegate place.
Fees: £280 / €336 / $448
